Ever since I was a child, I’ve admired the light cast by the 17th-century Dutch masters Rembrandt and Vermeer.

For my graduation from the Dutch Photography School, I chose to translate that admiration into a series titled “IN THE LIGHT OF VERMEER” (with a twist).

A series of photographs shot in the light of the 17th-century masters, translated into 21st-century photography.

I graduated from the Dutch Photography School, part of the Academy for Image Creation, with some of these photographs in June 2022.

Some of the photographs have previously been displayed at exhibitions, enlarged and printed on various materials. Partly framed, partly pure and sleek.

In December 2022, I exhibited at Kinkelenberg Castle in Bemmel, which was renamed “Kunst Kasteel Bemmel” for the occasion.

In 2023, I exhibited at a notary office in Rosmalen.

In 2024, I exhibited in De Schakel social-cultural center in Gilze.

A request from the curator of the Vermeer Centre in Delft, asking me to curate a temporary exhibition of my work at the museum to commemorate Vermeer’s 350th anniversary, prompted me to dedicate a special series to the world-famous painter’s use of light, titled “What if Vermeer had lived in Spain?
Upcoming publicly accessible exhibitions will be announced here and on my social media.
Let me surprise you.
